Enhancing Accessibility of Military Canteen

Abstract
Soldiers, our nation’s guardians, are given various privileges, including access to military canteens where they can purchase essential items at subsidized rates. However, many ex-servicemen encounter difficulties in utilizing these benefits due to factors like distance from stores and health factor like arthritis, and mobility issues. Moreover, the inconvenience of waiting in long queues further complicates the access process, lessening the efficiency of these privileges. This research investigates the challenges and focuses on developing a deeper understanding of Indian soldier’s experiences with military canteens. Through analysis of the data received, the key obstacles faced by the stakeholders were identified. Indian soldiers shared their struggles with accessing canteen products, highlighting issues like geographic limitation. Additionally, the frustration caused by time-consuming queues emerged as a significant concern. These findings underscore the urgent need to streamline access to military canteen benefits, particularly for ex-servicemen who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding our nation. Based on the research, the development of a user-centric system that enables ex-servicemen to access canteen products from the comfort of their homes is proposed. By using technology and logistical innovations, such a system would reduce the challenges associated with physical visits to canteens, thus enhancing the overall accessibility and convenience of these benefits. Implementing this recommendation will demonstrate our commitment to supporting their well-being and welfare. This is an opportunity as not much research has been done in this area specifically the Indian Military Canteen.
