The Editorial Board of Design Synthesis – International Design Journal for Multidisciplinary Studies is pleased to announce a Call for Papers for Volume 2, Issue 02 (July–December 2025). The journal aims to explore and disseminate the evolving and interdisciplinary nature of design that intersects with diverse fields such as industrial design, visual communication, user experience and interaction design, fashion, architecture, product design, interior design, crafts, and cultural studies.
The upcoming issue, themed “Design Integration: Bridging Disciplines, Shaping Futures,” invites researchers, academicians, practitioners, and design thinkers to contribute original research papers, case studies, reviews, and visual essays that delve into the multifaceted connections between design, technology, culture, and society. This issue seeks to highlight collaborative, human-centered, and sustainable approaches that redefine how design is conceived and practiced in a rapidly transforming world. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, cross-disciplinary design processes, design education for transdisciplinary learning, emerging design methodologies, the impact of digital technologies (AI, AR/VR, and digital fabrication) on design practice, and the cultural and social dimensions of design innovation. Submissions must adhere to the journal’s author guidelines and demonstrate rigorous scholarship, originality, and relevance to multidisciplinary design discourse.
The submission deadline is 15 December 2025, and accepted papers will appear in Vol. 2, Issue 02 (July–December 2025). Through this publication, Design Synthesis aims to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration among design disciplines, encouraging fresh perspectives that shape the future of design thinking and practice.
Additionally, the journal will feature a Special Issue for this volume, offering contributors an opportunity to publish in a focused edition dedicated to emerging themes in multidisciplinary design.
